On a previous app that I used to use it would allow me to set a reminder 15 minutes prior to the Athan. It was pretty useful reminder to offer my prayers if I hadn't already.

Having the Athan alert is nice, but this kind of reminder would allow a user to catch a prayer they would have otherwise missed.
